P.O.S.H Ministry: Simply Serving God

Elisabeth Wither is an R&B, Neo-Soul singer and songwriter. One of her most famous songs was a song called The Simple Things.

"Thinking if I spent more money than I could
If I worked harder than I should
Always having friends to feel good, I'd be happier
Loosing my breath in the hustle
Just stressin' over nuthin'
Forgetting the real joys that lie - in the simple things"

What Mrs. Withers was trying to tell us, is that many times, MOST times in life, we are overlooking the value in the simple things. Thinking if you had more money, more friends, more jobs, things would be greater and you'd be happier.

As believers in Christ, especially those who are new in Christ, it is very easy to get caught up in the "game" of church.  People  who play this game will have you thinking that if you don't understand the difference between Greek and Hebrew, if you're not proficient in the use of concordances, lexicons, dictionaries and all the other tools that are used in the studying of the word of God that you have not truly received salvation.  You are not serving God "correctly".
If perhaps, you find yourself feeling like this way of thinking may be true, let me encourage you in your walk with Christ.  It is in the SIMPLE understanding and obedience to His word that God hears you and God blesses you. He is not complicated! Don't get so caught up in the game of church that you miss what God is trying to say TO you and THROUGH you.  You're ministry and your destiny rests on you getting just what He is saying to YOU and not anyone else.

Many times He speaks in a still small voice (I Kings 19:12), other times He comes as rolling thunder (Joel 3:16). But when He does speak to you, He will have already prepared you through your studying of His word, to grasp exactly what He is saying.

As we remain in his word His voice will be made plain.  All that we need or want is in Him; financial freedom, friends, peace and joy, lies truly in the simplicity of serving Him. Simply serve God.

Do you forget to clean your makeup brushes? Think its going to take too long? Here's a few tips from Makeup Tips Blog page. Enjoy!  Click here > > > > - Cleaning Makeup Brushes.
Pictured: Mary Kay Powder brush and Foundation
Order your Mary Kay products here at Sheila's Mary Kay personal website.
Urban Decay Brushes
Cleaning your brushes are very important. All the dirt and germy particles floating around in the air land directly on your brushes and thrive their. And if your brushes are full of germs, guess where the germs will end up? On your skin! Producing pimples, adult acne and earlier signs of aging.

Now, I don't believe that you need to spend a lot of money on brushes nor brush cleaner. In fact comparable brushes can be found in your local drugstores.  Just take good care of them and they'll take good care of your skin.  And replace them according to the quality.  If they are inexpensive they will more than likely need to be replaced every couple of months.  The higher end can be kept for years with proper care.

The brands I prefer are M.A.C, Urban Decay and of course Mary Kay brushes are awesome.  And for those times when I'm shopping on a budget, I'll pick up a few E.L.F. or NYX eyeshadow brushes because I change those often due to the colors.

When we take care of the products that we use on our skin, (the only skin you'll get in this lifetime), then the products will take care of us.  Be a lady that can work that makeup because you know how to apply the products, as well as the lady that can go barefaced as well because you took good care of your products.

Leave your best brush cleaning tips for us. We're always looking for better ideas.
Be blessed and live a P.O.S.H life!

Today I feel like encouraging everyone to Get out and Vote!  Make sure you are registered in your state.  I used Rock the Vote to take care of all my voting requirements. It's your right, regardless of your political persuasion, we all have a right and a duty to place our vote in the box to determine the outcome of our futures. Let's use it.

Patience is a virtue... isn't it? :)

Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations
This place has ruffled my feathers today! I'm a licensed Barber (Hairstylist), for those of you who don't know (see Founder tab), and I sent my request for verification of my Barber's License to be sent to the state of Florida Barber Board so they can release my new Florida's Barber License. Well, the "man" on the phone said, "sure, we just need you to send in the request with a $15 MONEY ORDER." Well saints, I did.  And guess what? It was REJECTED! Why you ask? Because it's $25, not $15. So, I have to start waiting all over again. Not a happy camper. But at least I found out what was taking so long because they were not going to call me. Wowzers!! Flatlined...

One of my favorite clients! Nadia B. <3

I love what I do!

P.O.S.H Beauty: A little shopping trip soothes the weary soul... *wink*

Went to the store and purchased a few items I felt I "needed". :) Eyelashes are a MUST HAVE for me. I've somehow became addicted and the ones made by Ardell Lashes are perfect for me. They look better than when I had the "permanent" (explain that one) ones. I do my own lashes... fyi :)
Then I picked up some NYX eyeshadow base. It is an ok product, although it doesn't beat MAC's paint pot (Painterly is my favorite). But it's good enough for basic wear when you really want those shadows to pop. It gives you a better eye palette to work with by evening out the skin tone and lighting the palette so that colors will show up better. It's light on your pocket too because its inexpensive and you use less shadow. Just $6.99! It gave me a good base as far as the look I wanted but I'll have to try it on a day that I'm out for a long period of time to see how it is in the longevity department.
Now, the MAC Fix+ (the whole reason for the trip to the mall in the first place) gives you that Marilyn Monroe glow we all want. You feel glowy, famous, as if the red carpet is laid out. ELF (eyes, lips, face) brushes for $1 to $3 were a "why not" purchase. But guess what?! They are Cool! All the other products where on my spontaneous shopping list of "might as well try 'em". Turned out to be a great bag of tricks that were inexpensive.
I believe in trying all options. I'm a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant and I use EVERYTHING that Mary Kay has to offer. But I also add to my collection from various lines. Some of these products I'll never use again because they weren't quality enough. But at least I tried. So, try new things and see what works for you. Just don't change up your skin care cleansing routine, especially if it's working for you. I've used Mary Kay Timewise FOREVER. If it's not broke, don't fix it.  That's a no, no! <3

Life is Huge!

"Today, I feel like I should be Wherever she is, Wearing exactly what she's wearing, and Going Wherever she is going!! Oh and yes, I will be crossing my legs just like that. :)"

Although I live a very interesting and peaceful life, we all have to admit that sometimes we want to "get away". This is one of those moments.  Not because anythings wrong, but just because their is a space out their somewhere that you feel like exploring. Life is HUGE, and if we don't at least try we'll never experience the greatness of it.  God desire us to prosper and be in good health, even as our soul prospers. So if my soul is being nourished in God's powerful and fulfilling words, then surely I am going to desire to explore all that He has for me. Get out and make great things happen in your day, Everyday! Live a POSH life! ♥

Relocated to Orlando, Florida... yikes!

Orlando, Florida

So, I've moved to OrlandoOrange County. This week will be my 3rd week here. So far so good. I've met only two people. Lol! Not really on the path  to the friendly zone, but it's a start. I visited a wonderful church today, Majestic Life Ministries-Pastor Riva Tims. www.majesticlifechurch.com Wonderful service, I'm sure I'll go back. I know I'll go back.
In her message today she said some very encouraging things. The one thing that I made sure to jot, jot, jot down was point #2 in her lesson. Point #2 said, When you are birthing the purpose that God has given you and people are saying "No", when you know that you heard God said "Yes", let that No motivate you, don't let it stop you. Walt Disney encountered 302 No's before someone finally said yes.  Purpose should strengthen you, not stop you!! I'm strengthened to continue into my destiny.
Be blessed and have a POSH day!
